The following is a letter to Kyndall's
sister Nikki from Olivia shortly after Kyndall passed. Olivia was Kyndall's
friend and roommate.
Hi Nikki,
I hope that you have made it to and
from the hospital safely and are home recovering with lots of love and support
around you.
I am still in shock and cannot even bear
to look around my house because of the inexplicable heartache I have. I
can only imagine if I am suffering so having only known Kyndall a year, what
horrors your family must be going through.
I want you to know how much I loved your
sister as a friend and housemate. We were kindred spirits since the very
first time we met and I never saw her as a "recovering addict" or a
"risk" I only saw how beautiful her soul was and what a bright light
she brought to my world. I am forever touched for having had her living
with me and as a friend and confidante.
I can't continue right now but I want you
to know that your family is in my thoughts and prayers. Let me know when
you know the viewing/funeral arrangements. This lady Jan who was
Kyndall's friend owns a flower shop, Kyndall used to work there part-time
making arrangements. She mentioned something about wanting to do the
arrangements but my mind is too fuzzy to remember. I will give you her
number when we talk.
I hope we can stay in touch and be
friends. You meant a lot to Kyndall as did her other siblings.
Give Andrew my number and let him know I am here for him if he wants to talk.
Now or ever.
I did the best I could to love Kyndall and
give her a safe, happy, loving, comfortable home while she lived with me.
It was the least I could do for all the happiness it gave me to have her in my
life and as a friend.
Love,
Olivia
